Mark Email as Spam/Junk/Phishing

Outlook Desktop Application

  •  Right Click on the Email
  • You will now have two options, towards the bottom. Users can "Ignore" the email, which will delete is and ignore all threads from this sender in the future.

 

  • There is also the "Junk" menu

 

  • Users can Block the sender from this menu. Clicking on "Junk Email Options..." will bring up this menu

  • Users can set what level they want their emails filtered by, and can allow specific domains & email addresses. Users can also manage blocked email addresses, and emails from international accounts.

 

 

Mail Client on iPhone

  • After a User receives an email they have identified as spam/junk, they will need to swipe right on it to bring up a menu, where "More" is an option

  • The user should now click on the "more" option

 

  • The user should now click "move to junk" and emails similar to it in the future will be automatically sent to junk

 

Gmail.com

  • After a user receives an email that is spam/junk in their inbox, they have a few options. If they have already opened the email, they can click this button to send it to their spam folder. Doing this will also report the email to Google and they will investigate it further.  

 

  • If they haven't opened the email yet, they can also select it by checking the box next to it, and clicking the highlighted button. This button will only show up when you have an email selected

 

  • Emails without text, from unknown senders, or emails from lists you "unsubscribe" from should all go to spam automatically

After a user sees a spam/junk email is in their inbox, they have two ways to report it as spam. If they haven't opened the email yet, they can select the email by holding down on it for a second or two to bring up a menu (bar at the top)

If they have already opened the email, they need to click the three dots in the upper right hand corner, then report spam.
